#4 – Zed Key

Position: Forward

Hometown: Glen Head, NY

Rankings: 3-star (No. 46 SF, No. 290 overall)

Other offers: Boston College, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Marquette, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Providence, Rhode Island, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John’s, TCU, South Florida, and Virginia Tech, among others.

One of the biggest stock-boosters of the summer in the entire nation, regardless of class, Key’s recruitment has absolutely exploded over the last few weeks. Wisconsin was one of several high-major programs that got in on the party and extended an offer after Key was dominant at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Virginia in June, where he outshined many of the top players in the country.

While the word is that Greg Gard and his staff are extremely high on the 6’8, 215-pound forward, as we touched on in our piece that went up when the Badgers extended the offer, it’s tough to feel very confident in Wisconsin’s chances here. Indeed, Key should probably be considered the toughest pull on this list given how competitive his offer list has become and just how wide-open his recruitment appears to be at this time.

That being said, if Wisconsin is able to lock down an official visit from him it would go a long way in recalibrating my opinion on Bucky’s chances. We’ll likely know soon enough just how much interest Key has in the Badgers, as he has stated that he plans on committing before the start of his senior season and will be planning visits over the next few weeks.
