Wisconsin Football: Where Are They Now? Badgers in the NFL
Jacksonville Jaguars
Leon Jacobs – Linebacker: drafted in the seventh round of the 2018 draft. He has been a nice surprise for the Jags, earning playing time and making some plays. But his ability is no surprise to Badger fans, who saw that on a consistent basis while he was in Madison.
Joe Schobert – Linebacker: Schobert has been one of the leading tacklers in the league since he was drafted to Cleveland in 2016. He signed a five-year, $53.75 million deal with Jacksonville this offseason.
Los Angeles Chargers
Ryan Groy – Offensive Guard: Groy is the definition of a journeyman. He is on his eighth team and will be fighting for a spot on the Chargers’ 53-man roster.
Los Angeles Rams
David Edwards – Offensive Tackle: was drafted in the fifth round of the 2019 draft. He played in all 16 games for the Rams last season and started 10.
Rob Havenstein – Offensive Tackle: missed the first part of last season but has started in all 68 games he has played in.
Las Vegas Raiders
Alec Ingold – Fullback: signed with the Raiders last season as an undrafted rookie. Has locked up a spot on the roster as Josh Jacobs’ lead blocker.
Nick Nelson – Cornerback: played two games last season for the Raiders and currently on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) List.
Miami Dolphins
Vince Biegel – Linebacker: in his second year with Miami after stints with the Packers and the Saints. Had 2. 5 sacks and an interception last season with Miami.
Michael Deiter – Offensive Guard: played in all 16 and started 15 games for the Dolphins during his rookie season.
Andrew Van Ginkel – Linebacker: played in six games with the Dolphins in his rookie year, totaling 11 tackles and a sack.
New England Patriots
Beau Allen – Defensive Tackle: signed with the Patriots after a couple of years in Tampa Bay. Will likely be in the mix for a spot on the starting defensive line for New England.
James White – Running Back: White is entering his seventh year in the NFL, all with the Patriots. While he isn’t a big-name running back, he has been an important part of New England’s success in the past six years.
