Wisconsin Football: Where Can You Find Badgers in the NFL?

Where can you find Wisconsin football players in the NFL for the 2020 season? Take a look.

Even though there isn’t Wisconsin football this fall (for now), the NFL is still playing. There are plenty of former Badgers in the NFL that we can still root for. Training camp is over and the NFL teams have set their rosters for Week 1, which starts when the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Houston Texans on Thursday night.

After roster cuts, there are 33 former Wisconsin football players on 21 different teams. Here they are:

Carolina Panthers

Natrelle Jamerson – Jamerson was cut at the end of training camp but re-signed with the Panthers’ practice squad.

Chris Orr – Orr signed with the Panthers after going undrafted in this year’s NFL draft. He was cut at the end of training camp, but also returned to Carolina to join their practice squad.

Cincinnati Bengals

Alex Erickson – Alex Erickson is entering his fifth year in the NFL. He is the Bengals’ primary kick and punt returner but also finds time at receiver as well.

Dallas Cowboys

Tyler Biadasz – The Cowboys took Tyler Biadasz in this year’s draft in the 4th-round. He is currently listed as their backup center, but I’m sure it won’t be long before he is starting for the Cowboys.

Denver Broncos

Melvin Gordon – Gordon will be in his 6th year in the NFL. He signed a new contract with the Denver Broncos this offseason. He is listed as the number two running back, but will surely see a good share of carries this season in Denver.

Detroit Lions

Quintez Cephus – Cephus was drafted in the 5th round of the NFL draft his year after an impressive year with the Badgers last season. He is currently listed as a second-team receiver behind Kenny Galloday.

Beau Benzschawel – The former Wisconsin football guard caught on with the Lions after going undrafted last season. He appeared in two games for Detroit last year. He was cut at the end of training camp but re-signed onto their practice squad.

Green Bay Packers

Rick Wagner – Wagner signed a deal this offseason with the Packers to compete for the starting right tackle job. He is currently listed as the backup right tackle, but with the injury to Billy Turner, he could be in line to start at Minnesota in Week 1.
