Wisconsin football has added another player to its 2021 recruiting class.

Wisconsin football has landed another player to its already stacked 2021 recruiting class. Markus Allen committed to Wisconsin this afternoon via his Twitter account.

Allen is a 3-star receiver out of Clayton, Ohio. During his recent senior season, Allen had 60 catches for 844 yards and 14 touchdowns. According to 247Sports, Allen is the country’s 60th-ranked receiver and 373rd-ranked prospect overall.

Allen was originally committed to Michigan but re-opened his recruitment earlier this fall, which led to a lot of teams trying to add him to their recruiting classes. He committed to Wisconsin football over the likes of Cincinnati, Michigan State, Indiana, Pittsburgh, and more. There were even some rumors of Ohio State starting to get involved in his recruitment.

Evan Flood from 247Sports went more in-depth in his recruitment with Wisconsin.

"When Allen re-opened his recruitment in September, UW and wide receivers coach Alvis Whitted made a quick play.“They’re recruiting me heavy,” Allen said in September. “They feel like I’m a fit for Wisconsin. He likes how I’m a big-body receiver, I can make tough catches, I go up and get the ball. He likes how I’m a playmaker. I can get the ball anywhere and turn it into a touchdown and or a big gain.”“Wisconsin was just love,” he said. “As soon as I got in — I didn’t even have an offer from Wisconsin. They treated me like I was a top guy. They showed me they really wanted me. I really took that into consideration. They put a lot on me on the visit. They were with me every step of the way. I really liked that a lot. It’s been all love ever since.”"

He was also recruited publicly on Twitter by players currently committed to Wisconsin. He was a part of those recruiting wagers that took place earlier on this season. He and Al Ashford were set to play a game of Madden for Allen’s commitment. Not sure how serious it ever was, but apparently it wasn’t needed to get Allen to join the Badger’s loaded 2021 class.

Wisconsin’s 2021 class is currently ranked the 16th-best class in the nation. Allen is their 20th commit of the class and they still might not be done. The Badgers are keeping an eye on a few other prospects, but even without them, this is possibly the best class Wisconsin has ever had.

The future is bright for this Wisconsin football team and Markus Allen just made it even brighter.
