Wisconsin basketball has a few schedule changes after the Louisville game had to be postponed.

The Wisconsin basketball team was scheduled to play Lousiville on Wednesday, but the Cardinals are having some issues with the covid virus. They have had to halt all basketball activities. There was some hopeful optimism that the game would be played, but it was decided that the game would be postponed.

The Wisconsin basketball team shifted quickly and already has another opponent scheduled. They will host the Rhode Island Rams. The Rams are 3-2 and coming off of three straight wins over South Florida, San Francisco, and Seton Hall.

The game will still be on Wednesday and is scheduled to be played at 3:30 CT.

For such short notice, adding Rhode Island to their schedule is a big win for the Badgers. There was room on Wisconsin’s schedule to add an extra game, and with the Louisville game being postponed, this will give the Wisconsin basketball team another shot to fill out their schedule and even strengthen their resume come NCAA Tournament time.

Last season, the Rams went 21-9, finishing third in the A10 Conference behind Dayton and Richmond. Before the NCAA Tournament was canceled, the Rams were projected to be an 11-seed, according to Andy Katz.

The Wisconsin basketball team is coming off of their first loss of the season to Marquette in a last-second buzzer-beating stunner. At the time of their loss, the Badgers were ranked 4th in the country. They now sit at #13, sliding down nine spots.

The Badgers will look to get back on track against Rhode Island before they play Northern Iowa and then start conference play on December 21st vs. Nebraska.
