The Wisconsin men’s basketball team may only play once this week, but there are still plenty of other Wisconsin Badgers games and matches to watch in the meantime. Badger of Honor has primarily been about the men’s football and basketball teams, but there are many other quality athletic programs at Wisconsin as well.
Women’s hockey and volleyball are both the top-ranked team in the country in their sport. The men’s hockey team is also in the top-5.
Many of these programs tend to be overlooked because they aren’t as popular as football and basketball. I would highly suggest tuning in to watch other Wisconsin Badger athletic events whenever you can. To help you out a bit, here are some upcoming games your can watch.
Thursday, February 25
Women’s Basketball
The Wisconsin Badgers women’s basketball team has had a tough year. Sitting at 5-15, they are near the cellar of the Big Ten standings. But that doesn’t mean their season didn’t have some bright spots. One spot, in particular, was their win over #12 Ohio State a couple of weeks ago.
If you have a subscription for BTN+ you will be able to watch them on Thursday night at 6:00 PM CT when they host the 14-4 Indiana Hoosiers.
Friday, February 26
Women’s Volleyball
The Wisconsin Badgers’ women’s volleyball team has been blistering hot to start the season. They are sitting at 10-0 and are the number one team in the country. They have received 51 first-place votes. Texas (8) and Kentucky (1) are the only other teams to receive first-place votes. They have started 10-0 and have dropped just two sets this season.
They will host #5 Nebraska on Friday night and then again on Saturday. This will be the first big test for the Badgers this season. Luckily, the matches are at home, where they are 4-0 with four sweeps.
This big matchup will be on the Big Ten Network at 7:00 PM.
Men’s Hockey
The Wisconsin Badgers men’s hockey team is ranked 5th in the country after starting the season outside of the polls.
Led by Cole Caufield, the Wisconsin Badgers are back to being one of the top hockey teams in the country. They will host the 6-15-1 Ohio St. Buckeyes on Friday at 7:00 PM on Fox Sports Wisconsin.
Women’s Hockey
At 11-2-1, the Badgers’ women’s hockey team is sitting on top of the USCHO rankings. They are traveling to Duluth to play the 12th-ranked UMD Bulldogs. Duluth is 10-4 on the season.
This is the first meeting between the two teams after their original games were postponed back in December.
You can watch this game at 5:00 PM CT on Flohockey TV if you have a subscription.
Saturday, February 27
Men’s Basketball
The Badgers’ only game this week will come on Saturday when they face the Fighting Illini. Ilinois is ranked 5th in the country and coming in red-hot. This is going to be a big game for both teams. With a win, the Wisconsin Badgers will be able to make up some ground in the Big Ten Standings and hopefully finish the rest of their Big Ten schedule with some momentum.
This game will be televised on ESPN on Saturday at 1:00 PM CT.
Women’s Hockey
This is the second game of their back-to-back with Minnesota Duluth. This game will be broadcast at 2:00 PM CT on FloHockey if you have a subscription.
Men’s Hockey
Like the women’s team, this is the second of a back-to-back with the Ohio St. Buckeyes.
This game will is at 4:00 PM CT and can be seen on Fox Sports Wisconsin or the Fox Sports Go app.
Women’s Volleyball
When you are done watching men’s basketball, men’s and women’s hockey, you can end your Saturday night with some Wisconsin Badger volleyball. The second match of the back-to-back series with the Nebraska Cornhuskers is going to be must-see TV.
Like the first, this match will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
Sunday, February 28
Women’s Basketball
You can finish your Wisconsin sports weekend off with a women’s basketball game this Sunday afternoon when the Badgers will take on the Iowa Hawkeyes at home at 2:00 PM CT.
This will be the women’s team’s last home game of the season. They will travel to take on Michigan St. in back-to-back games to close the season out before the Big Ten Tournament begins on March 9 in Indianapolis.
