After an up and seemingly mostly down season, the Wisconsin basketball team has earned the 6th seed in the 2021 Big Ten Tournament. The tournament will begin this Wednesday, March 10 when Northwestern and Minnesota play at 5:30 PM CT. The tournament will run five-straight days to the championship on Sunday at 2:30 PM CT. The NCAA Tournament Selection Show will follow at 5:00 PM CT on CBS. Now that the Big Ten regular season is done, the bracket is officially set.

Here are the seedings for the field.

1. Michigan
2. Illinois
3. Iowa
4. Purdue
5. Ohio St.
6. Wisconsin
7. Rutgers
8. Maryland
9. Michigan St.
10. Indiana
11. Penn St.
12. Northwestern
13. Minnesota
14. Nebraska

Even though the Wisconsin basketball team slipped to a 6th seed and performed below expectations, the Big Ten Tournament provides an opportunity for them to make some noise and improve their NCAA Tournament seed projection, which is currently a 7 seed, according to Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology.

They will play the winner of Nebraska and Penn St. They swept their season series with Nebraska and split with the Nittany Lions. A win over either program would provide the Badgers with another shot to play Iowa. After Sunday’s game, I’m sure they’d love to get a chance at redemption against the Hawkeyes.

The Big Ten Tournament can be just as crazy as the NCAA Tournament. It’s the last chance for teams to strengthen their resumes and show the selection committee they deserve to be in the NCAA Tournament. The Big Ten is a wild conference where any given night.

We’ll predict how the Big Ten Tournament will play out in the order they will be played and crown a Big Ten Champion at the end.
