The Wisconsin basketball team is going to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday night at 6:10 PM.
Filling out brackets is a tradition in March, and it was a tradition that we missed out on last year after the tournament was canceled due to the covid pandemic. Now, that we can all finally get back at filling out our brackets, it’s fun to see all of the predictions for each game from around the internet.
Let’s take a look at predictions for the North Carolina and Wisconsin basketball game.
Former-President Barack Obama
Obama picked Wisconsin to win but must have had second thoughts. You can see on his hand-written bracket that he wrote Wisconsin down, but then scratched them out and went with North Carolina instead.
Asher Low, BadgersWire
Asher Low, the site editor of BadgersWire and the host of Locked On Badgers, picked Wisconsin to defeat North Carolina. He has them moving past the Tar Heels but then losing to Baylor in the Round of 32.
Jay Bilas, ESPN
Bilas also has Wisconsin defeating North Carolina but losing to Baylor in the second round.
Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News
Vinnie Iyer used the KenPom model to make a few predictions in his article. The Wisconsin basketball team showed up twice. According to KenPom, the Badgers over the Tar Heels are the number one most likely upset for the first round. He also has the Badgers are also the most underrated team in the tournament. Overall, the Badgers are the number 10 team in the tournament, despite being a 9-seed.
Ben Kenney, BadgersWire
Ben Kenney, also from BadgersWire, is also picking Wisconsin to defeat North Carolina but lose to Baylor in the next round.
There seems to be some optimism that the Badgers will be able to defeat the Tar Heels on Friday night, but not a whole lot of faith after that. There are no bones about it, the Badgers got a tough draw this year in the NCAA Tournament.
