Wisconsin Football: Prospects on commitment watch this weekend
The Wisconsin football team has two commitments in the 2022 class; quarterback Myles Burkett and a preferred walk-on, Jackson Trudgeon, who committed to the Badgers earlier this week.
They may be able to add more names to that list after this weekend when they host another round of prospects coming to Madison for their official visits. Some of these prospects could pull the trigger and commit to the Wisconsin football team this weekend.
Here are two players who are commitment watch this weekend.
ATH Cade Yacamelli
3-star athlete Cade Yacamelli camped with the Wisconsin football team and earned his first Power 5 scholarship offer. Outside of an offer from the Wisconsin football team, Yacamelli has offers from Air Force, Army, Navy, and some Ivy League schools like Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, and more.
He is visiting Madison this weekend and could very well leave as a committed player. There are three predictions for Yacamelli for 247Sports’ Crystal Ball. All three experts are going with Wisconsin as his pick, and all three are an 8 (high) confidence level.
TE JT Seagreaves
TJ Seagreaves is a tight end from from Monroe, Wisconsin, which is just about an hour south of Madison by the Illinois border. Like Yacamelli, Seagreaves camped with Wisconsin for a couple of days this summer and impressed the coaches enough to earn an offer.
After their tight end target Micah Riley-Ducker dropped his official visit with Wisconsin, the Badgers are looking to possibly add two players to the tight end position. Seagreaves could be a part of that.
Seagreaves has two Division 1 offers, from Illinois St. and Wisconsin. With a list like that, I would expect an in-state kid with an offer to Wisconsin to jump at it during his official visit when the coaches roll out the red carpet for the recruits.
Badger247’s Evan Flood has a confidence level of 9 (high) for Seagreaves, which is about as high as you can get before it is considered a lock.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Badgers walk away from this weekend with these two committed, and maybe even three if Barrett Nelson pulls the trigger as well.
