Recruiting is heating up for the Wisconsin football team. In June, the Badgers have hosted multiple recruits, including a huge weekend to kick off the end of the dead period.

According to Badger247’s Crystal Ball for most of their big in-state recruits, the Badgers are favorites, but can they bring in their top targets from out of state?

Let’s play some Buy or Sell on the Badgers’ chances to land some of their top recruits based on rumors and recent information following their official visits to Wisconsin and other schools.

OT Joe Brunner

Joe Brunner is the top target for the Wisconsin football program, according to 247Sports. He’s had visits with Wisconsin, Ohio St., and Notre Dame. After reading through some interviews from Brunner’s visit to Notre Dame (subscription needed), I feel even better about him picking Wisconsin, especially if he and Hinzman will in fact team up with each other in college.

I think between the idea of teaming up with other in-state prospects, Wisconsin being the home team, and their offensive line tradition, Wisconsin is sitting pretty good with Brunner.

Verdict: Buy

OL Carson Hinzman

Personally, I feel even better about Hinzman than I do about Brunner. He’s visited Wisconsin, Ohio St., and Notre Dame with Brunner and he will also visit Iowa this weekend. In some interviews after his Notre Dame visit, Hinzman used the term ‘pretty good’ often. I didn’t see any words like ‘fantastic,’ or ‘awesome,’ or ‘blew me away.’

Right now, I’m feeling really good about Hinzman picking Wisconsin.

Verdict: Buy

OL Billy Schrauth

This is where things get a little fuzzy. For the longest time, Schrauth was trending heavily towards Notre Dame. His Crystal Ball on 247Sports was Notre Dame heavy and it was pretty much a foregone conclusion he’d end up with the Irish. But then things seemed to change somewhat after his official visit with Wisconsin. I think being there with the other big in-state recruits was a game-changer.

I’m not sure it will be enough though. He visited Notre Dame a week later and then Ohio St. as well. It sounds like the Notre Dame visit went pretty well.

Verdict: Tentatively sell; I’m giving it a 50/50 shot.

RB Nicholas Singleton

Singleton was the only running back the Badgers were targeting and they let him know about it. Penn St. has been the favorite for Singleton for a long time, but it sounded like Wisconsin was hanging around, at least enough to get an official visit from the nation’s no. 3 running back.

He left Madison with a good impression from the Wisconsin football team, but I’m not sure it was enough to get a real chance. He has since visited Penn St. and Notre Dame, and now, he has a Notre Dame prediction from 247Sports as well.

It feels like there may have been some interest from Singleton, but not enough to keep the Badgers in the race.

Verdict: Sell

DE Isaac Hamm

It has always felt like Hamm was meant to be a Wisconsin football player. He lives just a few miles up the road from Madison in Sun Prarie. Wisconsin was his only visit until he checked Louisville out last weekend.

My guess is he is taking his time with his recruitment and wants to see if there are any other offers coming in, but in the end, I think Hamm is going to be wearing no. 24 in the Cardinal and White.

Verdict: Buy
