After being idle in Week 3, the Wisconsin Badgers are back in action for Week 4. In perhaps one of the biggest games on their schedule, the Badgers will travel to Chicago to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Soldier Field.
This is a matchup of two top-20 teams. Not only is this FOX’s Big Noon game, but College GameDay will also be there. There is going to be a lot of attention on this matchup.
Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame odds for Week 1:
Heading into their third game of the season, the Badgers are actually favorites over the Fighting Irish. Right now, the Badgers are 5.5-point favorites according to the latest betting odds from WynnBET.
If you would rather just pick the winner of the game, you can bet the moneyline. WynnBET currently has Wisconsin as the favorites with the odds set at -240 (bet $240 to make $100).
If you like to bet the over/under on points scored, WynnBET has the points set at 46 with the odds at -110 (bet $100 to make $110), so this is expected to be a low-scoring game.
Wisconsin Injury Report vs. Notre Dame for Week 1:
For the first time this season, we’ll get to see Leo Chenal on the field. Prior to their Week 1 game, Chenal announced on Instagram that he had covid and would miss the next two games. Chenal back with Sanborn will make the Badgers’ defense even more formidable.
Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame Prediction for Week 1:
For this matchup, I’m taking going with Notre Dame’s +5.5. I think this is going to be a pretty close game throughout. Until Wisconsin proves that Week 1 against Penn State was just a bad outing, I don’t have a ton of confidence in them putting up a lot of points.
Luckily, I think Notre Dame has their fair share of problems as well. They are 3-0, but none of those wins are particularly pretty or impressive. Right now, I think the Badgers pull out a close game, but the Irish cover the 5.5 points.
I also think I’d bet the under as well. Two good defenses will be playing on Saturday, which is usually a recipe for a low-scoring game.
Prediction: Wisconsin 21 – Notre Dame 18
