The Wisconsin football team is back in action in Week 6, looking to snap their current two-game losing streak. After another disastrous game against Michigan, Wisconsin fans are hoping the Badgers can turn their fortunes around with a trip to Illinois when they take on the 2-4 Fighting Illini.

Wisconsin vs. Illinois odds for Week 6:

It’s early in the week, but the Badgers are currently 8.5-point favorites according to the latest betting odds from WynnBET.

Like most of the Badger football games this year, the over/under has been set pretty low. For the Wisconsin-Illinois matchup, the over/under is set at just 43 points.

Wisconsin Injury Report vs. Illinois for Week 6:

There are a lot of names on the preliminary injury report for Week 5.

Questionable: FB Quan Esterling, TE Jack Eschenbach, TE Jake Ferguson, S Tyler Mais, CB Semar Melvin, and QB Graham Mertz

Out: ILB Jordan Tuner, OLB Aaron Witt

Out for the season: CB Al Ashford, TE Cole Dakovich, LS Duncan McKinley

Wisconsin vs. Illinois Prediction for Week 6:

I would say this is a typical trap game for the Wisconsin Badgers, but being at 1-3, the Badgers can’t afford to look past anyone. They should, and hopefully will be focused 100% on this game.

Before Graham Mertz’s injury in the 3rd quarter, he was starting to get some things going with the offense, orchestrating two nice drives in a row, producing 10 points. When he and tight end Jake Ferguson got hurt, the wheels fell off and the Badgers didn’t stand a chance.

Illinois is nowhere near the team Michigan is, offensively or defensively. While Bielema may be bringing the Illini back to relevancy, they aren’t there yet. This Wisconsin defense is still really good. I think they will be able to keep the Illini below 14 points on the day, meaning the Badgers would only need to score 23 points to cover the 8.5-point spread.

If Mertz starts the game, I am 100% confident that the Badgers will win and cover. If it’s Wolf, I think the Badgers still have a good shot to win, but may not cover.
