After topping #12 Houston yesterday, the Wisconsin basketball team will face the Saint Mary’s Gaels in the Maui Invitational Tournament Championship today. The Gaels have beaten Notre Dame and Oregon on their way to the title game.

This should be another great matchup and a fun game to watch this afternoon.

Wisconsin vs Saint Mary’s Odds: Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under

According to WynnBET, the point spread for the game tonight favors Wisconsin. The Badgers are currently a 1.5-point favorite in tonight’s game. The oddsmakers must be impressed with how the Badgers have been playing so far in this tournament. The odds that the Badgers cover the 1.5-point spread are set at -104 (bet $104 to win $100). The odds that the Gaels cover the +1.5-point spread are at -125 (bet $125 to win $100).

The moneyline for this game is even at -112 (bet $112 to win $100) for both the Badgers and the Gaels.

The over/under for the game is set at 120.5 points. The odds for both the over are set at -116 (bet $116 to win $100) and the under is set at -108 (bet $108 to win $100).

According to the odds, this is expected to be a very close game and could go either way.

The Badgers are early favorites to beat Minnesota and keep the Axe. light. More

Wisconsin vs Saint Mary’s Prediction Tonight

Much like the Badgers last year, the Saint Mary’s Gaels rely on their experience and seniors. So far this season, seniors have scored 67% of the teams’ points. They are led in scoring by forward Dan Fotu, who is averaging 15.2 points per game. They have another three players scoring in double figures this season.

The Badgers, on the other hand, have just three in Davis (20.3 ppg), Davison (15.2 ppg), and Steven Crowl (10.2 ppg).

The Badgers aren’t going to rely on getting in a shootout with their opponents this year. Instead, like usual, they are going to play tough defense, take their time on offense and limit their opponents’ time with the ball.

These two teams have very similar team stats. They are both averaging around 70 ppg on offense and allowing around 55-58 ppg. There’s a reason the under is set at just 120 points.

Prediction time. I’ve been very impressed with this Wisconsin team and they haven’t even played a solid full game yet. Against Texas A&M they started very slowly and came back in a big way to win by double digits. Yesterday, they continued playing hot but cooled off in the second half but were able to hold off the Cougars.

If Wisconsin can put together two full halves, I think they have a great shot at beating Saint Mary’s. Johnny Davis has been the X-factor for the Badgers. When he is on, this Badger squad is going to be hard to stop.

Between Davis and Davison on offense and the stout defense from Wahl, Davison, Davi, and the rest of the Badgers, I think the Badgers will be able to control the pace and keep Saint Mary’s out of the comfort zone and win another close game.

I’d take Wisconsin and the points and take the over.
