After a crazy regular season, we know where the Wisconsin football team will be playing their 2021 bowl game. They will be playing in the newly-branded SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl and will be taking on Arizona State.
The game will be played on December 30th at 9:30 PM CT in the new Allegiant Stadium where the Las Vegas Raiders play.
The Badgers will look to cap off their season with a win and finish their 2021 campaign with a 9-4 record.
The Sun Devils finished their season 8-4 as well and finished second in the PAC-12 South behind the eventual conference champion Utah Utes.
It may not be a New Years Bowl that Wisconsin football fans (myself included) thought this team would be capable of making it to, but we are still in a bowl game, and for the 20th-consecutive season too. That’s more than a lot of other programs can say.
The Badgers have won six of their last seven bowl games, with their lone loss coming in 2019-20 when they lost in the bowl game to Oregon by one point in a very competitive and entertaining game.
Last season, the Badgers defeated Wake Forest in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. The celebration in the locker room got more attention than the game when the crystal football on the trophy fell off and shattered while quarterback Graham Mertz was dancing with it. Needless to say, that’s been the running joke today when the Las Vegas Bowls’ Twitter account posted a picture of the Las Vegas Bowl trophy.
With the Badgers missing the Big Ten Championship Game this year, they were given another week to heal up a bit. This Wisconsin football team has been beaten up this year. They will have a little more time to get healthy as they have about three weeks before they face off with Arizona State.
