National Signing Day used to be in February and was one of the most anticipated days in college football recruiting. But now we have the early signing period where players can sign early and make it official sooner than February. A lot, in fact, most recruits take advantage of the early signing day and sign as soon as they can. Wisconsin target Carson Hinzman, however, is not one of those players.

We are now two days past the beginning of the early signing period and Hinzman has still not made a decision about where he wants to play football at the next level. He was expected to make his decision today, Friday, December 17th. He is reportedly down to two schools: Wisconsin and Ohio State.

So Wisconsin football fans were looking forward to today, especially after the Badgers landed 4-star defensive end Isaac Hamm out of Sun Prarie on Wednesday night. He is the third player of the ‘Super 6′ to commit to the Badgers and Hinzman would make it 4-out-of-6. He would be a very nice player to add and round out the Badgers’ 2022 recruiting class.

There is on Crystal Ball prediction on 247Sports from Evan Flood, who predicts Wisconsin but with just a ‘5’ (medium) confidence level.

Rivals.com, on the other hand, has four predictions for Carson Hinzman and 75% of them favor Ohio State. Only one has a prediction for Wisconsin.

Unfortunately, both Wisconsin and Ohio State fans are going to have to wait a little bit longer. Hinzman needs some more time to make his decision. He tweeted last night that he would not be making a decision today.

I’m sure there are plenty of anxious Badger fans who want Hinzman to make his decision, but this is a huge decision for an 18-year-old kid to make. You certainly can’t knock him for taking his time in what could be one of the biggest decisions of his life.

At the end of the day, all you can do is hope Hinzman stays home and joins the Badgers’ rich tradition of excellent offensive line play.
