The Wisconsin football team had a senior-laden secondary last year. Both Faion Hicks and Caesar Williams are moving on. On top of that, the Badgers had both Donte Burton and Deron Harell leave the program via the transfer portal as well. The cornerback position was getting very thin for the Badgers, so they’ve gone to the transfer portal to fix that. They added Justin Clark from Tulane earlier and now Jay Shaw from UCLA.

Jay Shaw entered the transfer portal just a day ago and is not committed to the Badgers.

Last season, Jay Shaw played in 12 games for the Bruins last season and had three interceptions. On top of that, Shaw was also the third-highest graded cornerback in all of the Pac-12 last season, behind a pair of Washington cornerbacks, with an 82.7.

As a prospect, Shaw was a 3-star prospect out of Carona, CA in the 2017 class. He was the 53rd ranked cornerback in the country and 552nd overall. He had offers from UCLA, Nevada, UNLV, and Washington State.

Shaw should be a candidate to start right away for the Badgers.

The Wisconsin football team also added Shaw’s teammate, wide receiver Keontez Lewis. The pair of Bruins will be a welcomed addition to Madison for the 2022 season.
