The Wisconsin Badgers continue their run through the Big Ten schedule tonight, going on the road against the #17 Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans come into this game with a 17-5 overall record and an 8-3 conference record, putting them a half-game back from the Badgers in the conference standings.

In their last matchup, the Spartans came to Madison and beat the Badgers by 12. They pounded them in the first half, leading 42-26 at the break. The Badgers mounted a small comeback, but the 16-point deficit at the half was too much to overcome. The Badgers were also without Tyler Wahl, one of their most important players on the floor.

Like the last matchup, the Spartans are coming off of a disappointing loss. Michigan State is coming off an 84-63 beatdown by Rutgers on the road. So you can bet they will come out firing tonight.

According to ESPN’s matchup predictor, the Badgers have just a 31.3% chance to win tonight.

Wisconsin vs Michigan State Odds: Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under

The Badgers are considered 4-point underdogs in tonight’s game against Michigan State, according to the latest odds from WynnBET. The odds that the Badgers cover the point spread are -110 (bet $110 to win $100). The odds that the Spartans cover the spread are also set at -110.

The moneyline for this game favors the Badgers to win outright, regardless of the score. The odds for the Badgers are +152 (bet $100 to win $152). The moneyline for Michigan State is at -185 (bet $185 to win $100).

The over/under for this game is set at 139 points. The odds for both the over and the under are set at -110.

Wisconsin vs Michigan State Prediction Tonight

I’m not going to lie, I’m not loving how the Badgers are playing right now. Shots just aren’t falling right now and Johnny Davis is trying to make up for that by forcing shots. There isn’t one player on the team right now that I confidently feel will show up tonight and be an actual scoring threat. The lid has been on the rim for this squad and I don’t see that changing tonight either.

On top of that, the Breslin Center is always a tough place for Wisconsin play.

I know the Badgers will have Tyler Wahl back, which will be a huge help, but I think the only way Wisconsin wins tonight is if Johnny Davis gets back on track. In the past seven games, Davis is averaging 17.3 points per game. Which is still a good amount, but about five points less per game than earlier in the season. He’s also shooting just 35% from the field on about 16 shots per game.

If he can get rolling again tonight and put up 30 points, I like Wisconsin’s chances. But so far, there hasn’t been any indication that he is coming out of his shooting slump. I think the Badgers drop another tough game on the road.

Wisconsin 65 – Michigan State 73

The good news, however, is that after this game, the Badgers only have one more ranked opponent on their schedule, #3 Purdue at home on March 1.
