The Wisconsin Badgers are back in action on Saturday following a huge win over #17 Michigan State on Tuesday. Johnny Davis returned to form after a short mid-season slump.

According to ESPN’s matchup predictor, the Badgers have an 84.0% chance to win the game.

Wisconsin vs Rutgers Odds: Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under

The Badgers are considered 8-point favorites for today’s matchup with Rutgers, according to the latest odds from WynnBET. The odds that the Badgers cover the point spread are -110 (bet $110 to win $100). The odds that the Spartans cover the spread are also set at -110.

The moneyline for this game favors the Badgers to win outright, regardless of the score. The odds for the Badgers are -370 (bet $370 to win $100). The moneyline for Rutgers is at +275 (bet $00 to win $275).

The over/under for this game is set at 131.5 points. The odds for the over to hit are -115 and -105 for the under.

Wisconsin vs Rutgers Prediction Tonight

I think this game would worry me a lot more if the game was at the RAC (Rutger Athletic Center), where both #17 Michigan State and #16 Ohio State have lost in the past week. Fortunately for the Badgers, they will host the Scarlet Knights at the Kohl Center, where the Badgers are 10-2 overall. Their two losses came at the hands of Providence (without Johhny Davis) and their first meeting with Michigan State (without Tyler Wahl).

That doesn’t mean the Badgers are going to win this game no problem. They continue to play in close games all season, regardless of who the opponent is. Luckily for the Badgers, they have come out of the winning side of most of those games. They just know how to win.

Ron Harper Jr. is the leading scorer for the Scarlet Knights (15.4 points per game) and should be the Badgers’ top priority on defense. In the past, the Badgers have done a great job of containing him. In four career games against the Badgers, Harper averages just 9.0 points per game. His largest scoring output against Wisconsin was in February of 2020 when he scored 21 points in a 79-71 Badger victory at the Kohl Center. Outside of that performance, he’s been held to six points or less in the other three meetings.

If the Badgers play as they did against Michigan State, they should come out of this game a winner.

The good news, however, is that after this game, the Badgers only have one more ranked opponent on their schedule, #3 Purdue at home on March 1.
