3 Luke Fickell viral clips that show his raw emotion in Wisconsin’s biggest win yet

Luke Fickell has notoriously been a pretty vanilla coach in terms of emotion. He isn't known for overly theatrical antics on the sidelines or fired-up press conferences. He mostly stays on script during his Wisconsin football tenure, and yet something has changed. This season, we are seeing a coach who is not only fighting for his coaching life and career, but also seems to truly believe in Wisconsin football.

It's a side of Fickell that fans have been desperate to see. Not the cheesy T.E.A.M. or the ridiculous coachisms, but a coach who is as passionate and desperate to win as the average Wisconsin fan. This game against Penn State, we finally got to see it. Yet, we've seen it a little bit throughout this season. The main photo of this article is him absolutely losing his mind at a ref during the Notre Dame game.

Three different clips of Luke Fickell went pretty viral during and after the Penn State upset, showing that Fickell actually cares. The first one absolutely will fire you up. Watch him rip into Brady Collins with "I F***ING KNOW!"

This is before Wisconsin is even ahead of Penn State. The team is down 20-17 at this point, and he's completely locked in. Passionate, ready to win, willing his offense down the field. He had no business listening to Collins about "getting back."

The second clip is maybe the most viral; it's been shared by a bunch of different Badger fan accounts, including Barstool's Big Cat. But it's Fickell after the game, losing his mind over the biggest win of his career, at least at Wisconsin. Look at how amped this man is...this is exactly what we want to see in a coach. He cares so much about this, and what Ryan said is so true.

Fickell chose to stay and find a way to help Wisconsin win, and if he actually figures it out and brings Wisconsin to the mountaintop, he will be a Badger legend, forever.

The other clips are the two post-game interviews. Since neither was technically as viral as the above clips, we can lump them together. Both in the Peacock interview immediately after the game and in the press conference, Fickell was choking back tears. His pride and his excitement were evident.

It's funny because both times he visibly pushes down the waterworks are when he is talking about how proud he is of his team. The coach in him for his players is incredible. Look at the first clip and watch him fight through that first question.

The same emotion comes up again in the following clip, during the post-game press conference. From the start of the clip through the whole thing, he's fighting the emotion off. But the moment you really see him fight it: "For those guys to go out there and earn it, to battle, to come through...nothing makes you more proud." But then it was the end of the quote when he said, "I've had some bad nights here," that really makes you go, woah, this guy wants it.

He may want it as badly as any of us. Whether he has the juice to make it happen or not is another question, but for now, he seems to be turning it around, and his passion is clearly there.
