Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard and his staff have been pursuing multiple targets in the portal with specific skills and fit. They aren't chasing every single player but honing in on specific players who fit the culture and the needs identified by Gard. Three current transfers are close to making their decisions, and Wisconsin is a finalist for all three players. Let's take a look at each player.

Andrew Rohde transfer from Virginia

Andrew Rohde is a native of Wisconsin and would be coming home to play his final years as a Badger. He is a 6'6" wing who averaged 9.3 points last season and shoots the three at a 41.3% clip. He would fit right in with what Gard is trying to do, and there are openings in the starting rotation for a player like Rohde.

There are a few teams in the running for Rohde, but the primary two seem to be Iowa State and Wisconsin. He hasn't said when he will make a decision, but it seems to be moving quickly.

Austin Rapp transfer from Portland

Austin Rapp was the WCC player of the year from Portland. He would fill a huge need in the position that Steven Crowl just graduated from. He averaged 13.8 points and 6.5 rebounds, and guess what? He can shoot the three, and he does it very well. He would thrive in the Badger offense.

According to Joe Tipton of On3.com, he's narrowed his list to five schools: Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Clemson, and Oregon. He seems to be working on visiting them all. He was on Wisconsin's campus last week and Oregon's this week.

Nick Boyd transfer from San Diego State

Nick Boyd is a senior point guard from San Diego State who is looking for his final school to serve out his eligibility. He narrowed his choices to UNC and Wisconsin and has reportedly visited both places. Last night, Travis Branham of 24/7 Sports logged a high crystal ball prediction that he will end up as a Badger. This would be a huge pickup for Greg Gard and Wisconsin.
