The Badgers' running back battle has been the talk of the summer. With the departure of Tawee Walker, Wisconsin was in need of a new bell cow to carry the load on offense. Up until this point, it looked as though backs Darrion Dupree, Dilin Jones and Cade Yacamelli might be splitting the the workload somewhat evenly. But now, after just two days of fall camp, one name is rising to the top of the list.

Dilin Jones, who is one of the biggest unknowns heading into the season, has continued to impress this camp. While he has the least experience of the three backs, its obvious is potential is starting to shine through.

Running back Dilin Jones continues to make a name for himself

Offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes has made clear that he will play whatever running backs deserve to play. So far, there has been debate as to who should get the starting nod amongst the stable of backs. Ultimately, his decision might not be too difficult if Jones continues his trajectory. With just 16 carries to his name, Jones is still raw, but there's a lot of hope for the future star.

Whether one or all three backs end up getting playing time, the Badgers have a great problem on their hands. With such a deep running back room, it should be one of head coach Luke Fickell's least concerns heading into the season. Oh and by the way, four-star recruit Amari Latimer will be joining the unit next season to make for one heck of a group.
