The transfer portal is now just days away from opening, and hundreds of players have already decided to use it to find a new school to play football for. This is good news for Wisconsin as they need a roster upgrade and overhaul. Luke Fickell needs to replace 30+ players, and most of them need to be top-tier starters in the Big Ten. A new name has emerged that would fit this bill exactly: Jayden Woods.

Florida featured true freshman Jayden Woods a ton this last year, playing in every game, recording 28 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one interception. He could fill in the last linebacker spot beside other standout true freshmen at Wisconsin, Mason Posa and Cooper Catalano.

Jayden Woods is planning to enter the portal and Luke Fickell needs to open the wallet for him

Woods heavily considered Wisconsin just a season ago, as he was finishing up high school in Kansas. He took a visit on May 31, and Wisconsin was one of the finalists alongside Florida, Tennessee, Purdue, and Penn State. Would he consider Wisconsin again now that he's a free agent?

Luke Fickell needs to figure out a way to bring him to Madison, as he would be a huge pickup. He's young and elite, and would be ideal in the rotation for rushing the passer and helping the other two true freshmen Wisconsin already has: Posa and Catalano.

The portal will be crazy when it opens on January 2nd, and Fickell may have bigger priorities than another edge, but if you can't rush the passer in the Big Ten, you can't compete. There's been a lot of turnover from the pass rushers this season for Wisconsin. The top three pass rushers for the Badgers are moving on, two to graduation, one to the portal, so Fickell needs to go get Woods.
