Jonathan Taylor is the best running back in the NFL this season, and it's not even close. He's leading in all the major stats: rushing touchdowns, rushing yards, and yards per game. He already has four games this season with three touchdowns. On Sunday, against the Tennessee Titans, he had his latest performance with two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. Now, Adam Schefter is sharing stats that make a case for him to be the NFL MVP.
Jonathan Taylor is now the fifth player since 2000 with at least three scrimmage touchdowns in four games in a season, joining LaDainian Tomlinson in 2006, Marshall Faulk in 2000, Shaun Alexander in 2005 and Priest Holmes in 2002 and 2003.

Former Wisconsin Badger is taking over the NFL, and ESPN's biggest face, Adam Schefter, shares how impressive Taylor really is. He said that Taylor is only the fifth player since 2000 that's had at least three scrimmage touchdowns in four games, joining greats like LaDainian Tomlinson, Marshall Faulk, Shaun Alexander, and Priest Holmes, which you can see in the social media post above.
What you can't see because it was cropped off is that Taylor also joins Hall of Fame company with Jim Brown, Tomlinson, Emmitt Smith, Chuck Foreman, and Todd Gurley as one of six players to have 70 touchdowns in their first 75 games.
Jonathan Taylor already has 12 rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns on the year. To go along with 850 rushing yards and 206 receiving yards. To put that in perspective, he is tied for fifth in the NFL for most touchdowns this season. The other four are all quarterbacks. The next two running backs on the list have eight touchdowns (Josh Jacobs) and seven touchdowns (Javonte Williams and Jahmyr Gibbs).
There's a strong case that the former Wisconsin Badger Jonathan Taylor is the MVP frontrunner at this point, and Adam Schefter may have been the first to start the conversation without realizing it.
