Former Badger Vinny Anthony II went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft but was quickly signed to a UDFA contract by the Atlanta Falcons. They then guaranteed a large sum of money to ensure they beat out any other NFL team. The Falcons gave him $265,000 in guaranteed money, which signals they will give him every opportunity to earn his way onto the Week 1 roster.
Atlanta Falcons expert for FanSided's "Blogging Dirty" site, Jason Kandel, has a strong prediction for the former Badger wide receiver. Kandel offers up a depth chart prediction for the Falcons and says that Anthony could easily make the roster and become "the ultimate gadget guy."
Anthony's versatility and ability to play special teams may give him a leg up on the other bottom of the roster wide receivers who are competing for a spot on the roster. Anthony was a wide receiver for Wisconsin, but played a lot of special teams as a returner and in kick coverage. He would even take carries out of the backfield.
"Given the state of this receiver room, Anthony is a name to look out for. Drake London, Jahan Dotson, Olamide Zaccheus, and Zachariah Branch are the only roster locks at WR, so he'll compete with Casey Washington, Dylan Drummond, and Deven Thompkins for a roster spot, which isn't too bad."Jason Kandel, Blogging Dirty
Wisconsin Badgers hit a low point in the NFL draft but it can be turned around with the UDFAs

This year's draft was rough for the Wisconsin Badgers, seeing absolutely zero players get drafted. It was the lowest draft result for the Badgers since 1978. Fickell called it 'a realization,' and it's something that has to be fixed.
While that's rough for the Badgers, there were 11 Badgers who signed UDFA deals, and there are a few that are turning heads enough for people like Kandel to think they may make the roster. Anthony is one of them, but so is Jackson Acker as a fullback in Buffalo, or Mason Reiger for the Miami Dolphins. It may not end up being a bust of a year after all, but until any of these 11 make a roster, it certainly feels like it.
It's good to read reports like Kandel's and to hear from Atlanta Falcons experts and fans about the chance for Anthony to make the roster.
