Wisconsin basketball will host of the fastest rising prospects in the state on Thursday. Zavier Zens of Wisconsin Lutheran will be taking an unofficial visit to campus today after a very impressive junior season.
Badgers hosting fast-rising in-state recruit today
The class of 2026 recruit does not yet hold an offer from the Badgers, but that may be changing very quickly. He already holds several Division 1 offers, and Wisconsin may enter the fold if Zens continues to impress. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 22.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game this past season and has now gotten the attention Greg Gard and the Badgers. His 67% shooting from the field and 51% clip from beyond-the-arc would be a nice fit for the new-look Badgers' offense.
The 2026 class for Wisconsin is already a strong one, with commitments from Jackson Ball out of New Zealand, and local product LaTrevion Henderson. Adding Zens into the mix would make for a very interesting class with the potential to be one of the best in years. While the Badgers continue to prioritize other high-profile in-state prospects like Vaughn Karvala, Zens could quickly find himself at the top of the board with another dominating season.
Wisconsin has continued to focus their recruiting efforts on in-state and international talent. Zens would be another local kid, and more likely to stick with the program through transfer cycles than out-of-state players. His visit today will be interesting to monitor, especially if an offer comes out of it.
