New Wisconsin quarterback is already getting the attention of his coaches just a few weeks after joining the Badgers. The former Old Domonion quarterback signed with Wisconsin during this latest transfer cycle, and has quickly shown why the Badgers' coaches were so excited to get him.
The Badgers' Director of Strength and Conditioning Brady Collins caught up with Zack Heilprin on The Camp and explained why Joseph has impressed the staff so much in s short amount of time.
"One, he's an explosive athlete. He's extremely twitchy," said Collins. "He's got a clean history of health--I love that."
Collins went as far to say that he hasn't this type of talent at the position before for Wisconsin.
"It's exciting to watch him do some things because you're like 'Oh, we haven't had something like this here,'" said Collins. "He's a great young man."
New Badgers signal-caller Colton Joseph is already looking the part for Wisconsin
After seeing both of their quarterback transfers from 2024 and 2025 go down with early injuries, Wisconsin is hoping for some better luck with Joseph. Not only does he have a clean bill of health, but he also adds a dual threat ability that the Badgers haven't seen from their quarterbacks in quite some time. Joseph rushed for over 1,000 yards last season with the Monarchs.
Luke Fickell and the Badgers are entering a pivotal season, with much of the success riding on the arm, and legs, of Joseph. Wisconsin's offense has looked fairly anemic over the last few seasons, averaging just 12.8 points per game in 2025, and with the expectation that the defense will once again be a strong unit, it's time the offense starts doing their fair share.
The Badgers will find out right away what they're made of in 2026. Wisconsin will open against Notre Dame on Sept. 6.
