Just one day after Wisconsin's heartbreaking defeat to Kentucky in the semifinal of the NCAA Tournament, the Badgers suffered another big loss to their roster.
Setter Addy Horner will enter her name into the transfer portal, ending her time in Wisconsin after just one season.

Badgers may turn to the portal to find additional setter depth after the departure of Horner
The 6-foot-3 Illinois native played sparingly early on in the season until a shoulder injury to star setter Charlie Fuerbringer thrust her into the starting role. Horner filled in admirably, averaging 36 assists per game in Fuerbringer's absence. However, once Fuerbringer was healthy enough to play, Horner's role was dramatically reduced again.
Horner likely wouldn't have seen the court much more in 2026, sitting behind all-american Fuerbringer again. So while the transfer is unfortunate, it isn't terribly surprising that Horner would want a starting role elsewhere. She proved that she can start pretty much anywhere in the country, and there will be no shortage of top tier teams that come calling.
Sophomore Morgan Van Wie is the only other setter on the roster behind Fuerbringer, and with no 2026 recruits at the position, the Badgers may look to the portal to find some more depth. Last year Wisconsin was able to find key players like Mimi Colyer, Grace Egan and Alicia Andrew in the portal. Still, the loss of Horner is a big blow to the Wisconsin depth, and more transfer announcents are likely to come in the new year.
