The Badgers will feature several new starters this season after the departures of John Tonje, Steven Crowl and Max Klesmit. So what might the stat production look like for this year's squad?
G Nick Boyd
2024: (SDSU) 13.9 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 3.9 APG
2025 Prediction: 11.5 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 4.4 APG
Boyd was a big transfer for the Badgers this offseason, and the senior brings plenty of experience after reaching the Final Four in 2023 with FAU. While his shooting has never been elite--just 42% for his career--his playmaking ability and poise at point guard fill a huge need for Wisconsin. He'll be one of at least four Badgers to average double-digits in 2025.
G John Blackwell
2024: 15.8 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 2.2 APG
2025 Prediction: 17.9 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 2.2 APG
Blackwell returns to Wisconsin after briefly testing the NBA Draft waters and will be the No.1 scoring option on offense. Without Tonje, the Badgers will need to replace a ton of scoring and Blackwell is more than capable of picking up the slack. He'll look to regain his three-point shooting form after dropping down to 32% in 2024, but should have his best season yet on his way to becoming a first round draft selection in the summer.
G Andrew Rohde
2024: (Virginia) 9.9 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 4.3 APG
2025 Prediction: 8.5 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 3.5 APG
Rohde, a Wisconsin native, returns home after spending the last two seasons with Virginia. He does everything well, and while he's not the same player as Klesmit, he can fill a similar by making smart plays, hitting clutch shots and playing solid defense. His 41% from three last season is particularly intriguing.
F Nolan Winter
2024: 9.4 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 1.1 APG
2025 Prediction: 13.7 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 2.3 APG
The biggest candidate for a breakout season, Winter is an absolute unicorn. A seven-footer who can space the floor with his shooting and passing ability, Winter has a chance to enter his name among the best bigs in the conference this year.
F Austin Rapp
2024: (Portland) 13.8 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 3.5 APG
2025 Prediction: 10.4 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 1.8 APG
Rapp, a transfer from Portland, is still relatively raw after just one year of collegiate basketball, but the 6-foot-10 Australian is another big man with some shooting ability. He's a decent defender and offers more shot-blocking ability than former center Steven Crowl.
