Former Badger Brad Davison is now a current Badger coach. He will be working alongside head coach Greg Gard to help Wisconsin make a title run and build off the success of last season. He took in his first day of practice yesterday and was animated, joyful, and threw himself headlong into the new role. After practice, when he met with the media, he said that he has two goals for the first few days of practice, and that's to "keep serving people and keep adding value."
He was seen participating in drills both as a coach and an extra player. He was showcasing one of his trademark moves, taking a charge. He looked spry, was athletic, and could still hang with the current players even though he's now one of their coaches.
Greg Gard called Brad Davison one of the best leaders he's ever been around

His goals as he settles in are what make him such a special person and what made him an amazing player in the time he was with the Badgers from 2017-2022. He's always been a natural leader and someone that Gard felt was a coach, even when he was a player. It was an easy call to make to Davison while the former guard was working on his international career in Spain, "Do you want a job? Do you want to come coach with me at Wisconsin?" It was also an easy, "Yes!" for Davison.
He's a natural motivator and is good at lifting the team up which is where he gets his first goal, "serving people." He's also looking to see how he fits in and where exactly Gard needs him to step into situations, drills, and coach up the younger players.
Davison is going to be exceptional for Wisconsin and he's already proving it in just the first practice.
