Locke entered the transfer portal after another season filling in for the injured starter. Much like 2023 with Tanner Mordecai, Locke was forced into the starting lineup after starter Tyler Van Dyke was injured in just the third game. Locke went on to win just three games while throwing for 1,936 yards along with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

The former Badger will now head to Arizona to compete for the starting job against last year's starter Noah Fifita. Fifita threw for 2,958 yards with 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 2024.
Other former Badger quarterbacks like Tyler Van Dyke and Mabrey Mettauer have yet to find a new home. Meanwhile, Luke Fickell and company have been busy in the portal as well, landing quarterbacks Billy Edwards Jr. from Maryland and Danny O'Neil out of San Diego State.
