The much-anticipated matchup between No. 23 Wisconsin and No. 9 BYU is tomorrow, and it is trending toward the Badgers facing a Cougar team without two of their key starters: Keba Keita and Kennard Davis Jr., one for disciplinary issues and the other with a day-to-day injury. Here's the latest information.

Kennard Davis Jr. has pleaded not guilty but BYU admin plans to address his discipline

If you are new to this story, Davis was arrested last week for DUI after being involved in a two-car crash. It was later revealed that he was in possession and under the influence of marijuana. There's a handful of things involved in this disciplinary case. First, it is still illegal to use marijuana recreationally in Utah. Second, he's only 20 years old, so that may matter if alcohol was also involved, but most importantly, he plays hoops at a school with very high expectations in its code of conduct.

They have kicked players off their sports teams for other infractions that are against their code of conduct. This may not happen for Davis; it's hard to know, but according to BYU head coach Kevin Young, that's the next step. He said the school has asked him to let them handle it, so he will.

"I know exactly what happened. I am very aware of all the details, but at the same time, I am going to let the school handle it the way that they have asked me to handle it, and that is for them to be the people that talk about it. "

Young went on to say that it's safe to say that Davis won't be playing against Wisconsin, but added, "There's a lot of stuff still being sorted out."

Injury update on Keba Keita ahead of Wisconsin game

The other potential starter missing for BYU against Wisconsin is Keba Keita. He was injured against UConn in a big matchup last week. He took a shot to the head and got up, woozy, acting. He missed the rest of the game, and the team has been following concussion or head injury protocols.

Kevin Young also updated the health of his star big man in a media call yesterday. He said that Keita is doing better, but it's still day-to-day, and that it will be up to the medical staff if he can go. He's not sure if he will or not, but he is happy to know the star player is doing better than he was after UConn. You can listen to what he says in the clip above.

Keita was a pest against Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament game last season. He was all over the court, and his stats show how important he was to BYU winning that game with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 blocks.

I'm sure Greg Gard would love to match up against BYU at full strength and get them at their best, the reality is, even without these two players, the Cougars are really stacked and there's a reason they are the No. 9 team in the country. It will be a battle regardless.
