The Boston Celtics have shown renewed interest in Former Badger and current European star Nigel-Hayes-Davis. According to a report from NBC Sports (Celtics), Boston scout Joe Mazzulla was in Turkey watching the Euro League Finals with the sole purpose of scouting out Hayes-Davis. It was a good time to do it because Hayes-Davis won the Finals MVP and helped secure Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul the championship.

Celtics are considering bringing former Wisconsin player Nigel Hayes-Davis to the NBA
This isn't the first time that the Celtics have had interest in Nigel Hayes-Davis; according to Chris Forsberg, it's been since his Wisconsin days when they hosted him in 2016. That season he was testing the NBA Draft waters but decided to remove his name and return to the Badgers.
"And while Boston most certainly has bigger roster issues to navigate this summer, it’s fair to wonder in these late June doldrums if the now-30-year-old Hayes-Davis could be a low-cost option for Boston’s frontcourt."NBC Sports Celtics
According to the same report, Fenerbahce Beko's owner mentioned that there has been NBA interest in a couple of his players; presumably, Hayes-Davis is one of those players.
Hayes-Davis was a star this season in the Euro League. Now he's 30 years old, but he's maybe as good as he's ever been, and his hard work is really paying off. He averaged over 16 points a game this season and won the Finals MVP as the best player in all of the final four games of the season.
He did have a stint in the NBA between three teams: the Los Angeles Lakers, the Toronto Raptors, and the Sacramento Kings. However, he never could quite crack the rotation and get himself into a position to stay in the NBA. He's found a solid footing overseas, but now, with his recent exceptional play, the Celtics are courting.
