Beau Pribula plans to enter the transfer portal again after starting for Missouri all season. The wrinkle for Wisconsin is that he was linked to the Badgers when he left Penn State. Not only was he linked in the general sense of "reports", he himself said on a podcast that "my plan was to go to Wisconsin right away...but then they signed someone (Billy Edwards Jr.)." Now that he's back in the portal, does Wisconsin try again?
The timeline may help understand the story and also show why Wisconsin may, in fact, grab Pribula this time around.

Beau Pribula may be Wisconsin's primary quarterback target in the portal again

Wisconsin didn't make a bowl game last year, and the NCAA had a mid-year portal open in December for transfers, even while teams that were playoff or bowl-bound were still playing. This is all relevant for understanding why the Badgers ended up with Billy Edwards Jr. instead of Beau Pribula.
Let's set the stage a little for this timeline of events. First, Pribula was playing the quarterback in waiting under Drew Allar at Penn State. He played a little his freshmen and sophomore year, ready to take the reins his junior season when Allar went to the NFL. Then Allar behind closed doors decided he was going to return. The portal was already open, and deals were flying around. Pribula, then decided to enter it on December 15.
That day is important. He had conversations with Wisconsin, had his heart set on helping the Badgers fix things, and to lead them in a winning season. Billy Edwards Jr., who was also talking to Wisconsin, was in the portal since December 12, but on December 16, decided to commit to Luke Fickell and the Badgers.
The Edwards decision altered Pribula's course almost before he even had time to think much about it. He had to pivot and eventually landed in Missouri.
Now, he's back in the portal again, and Wisconsin still needs a starting quarterback. The door is open again. We know Fickell and Grimes like Pribula and were interested in him last time. He may become the favorite for the Badgers to be the starting quarterback next season.
