Michigan's head coach, Dusty May, joined the Wake Up Barstool show to talk about the NCAA Tournament and going into March Madness as a No. 1 seed with lofty expectations. He talked at multiple points about how impressive Wisconsin is, and how they will be a tough out in the tournament. His quote that should fire up Badger fans was about how Wisconsin has what "might be the best back court in all of college basketball."
May knows firsthand what it's like to lose to Wisconsin. Only two Big Ten teams were able to beat the Wolverines all season: Wisconsin and Purdue. The Badgers were the only team to do it in the regular season. How did they do it? An excellent backcourt that took over the game.

In the first meeting, Wisconsin knocked off the Wolverines 91-88, and it was on the back of Nick Boyd, who went for 22 points, six assists, and three rebounds. John Blackwell had 26 points, five rebounds, and three assists. The Wisconsin backcourt proved early on how deadly they can be to a powerhouse team, even on the road.
In the second meeting in the Big Ten tournament, Wisconsin almost did it again. Michigan won 68-65 with a final-second three-point shot by Yaxel Lendeborg. This time, Dusty May did his best to keep Nick Boyd and John Blackwell contained. Boyd finished with 14 points, five assists, and five rebounds, and Blackwell had 13 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Nothing to turn your nose up at, but it helped Michigan pull off the victory.
Yet, May was shaking his head before and after the duo. A week later, and he's still thinking about how close it came to Boyd and Blackwell leading the Badgers to knocking off his team again. He knows they are capable of a deep run.
