Email to Wisconsin Badgers season ticket holders includes a woeful line

The Wisconsin Badgers had a disappointing 2024 season, going 5-7 overall and 3-6 in the Big Ten. Missing a bowl game for the first time in 22 years and the disappointment among fans was palpable. This coming season won't be a cakewalk; Wisconsin has one of the toughest schedules in the country, and to secure a bowl game will likely require at least a couple of upsets. For many fans, embracing another season of discouragement and losses is just too much. This is why an email that went out to current season ticket holders included a woeful line.

Wisconsin Badgers says that next season will have more "flexibility in the seating map."

According to an online social media post by EricTheRed on X, the email included a line stating, "This year, fans will notice more movement and flexibility in the seating map compared to past seasons." This is one way to say there are fewer season ticket holders.

It was meant to be a spin for season ticket holders to upgrade their seats maybe and or move to more desirable locations, but it comes with a weighted feeling. The Badgers have lost season ticket holders due to their poor performance, and now there is more "flexibility." However, it may be that final few words that really seal the deal that it's a problem with losing. "Compared to past seasons." Well, what else is different about the past seasons? This season is on the back of a losing season, which hasn't happened in decades.
