It's March, and the content wheel is spinning nonstop as teams are headed into their conference tournaments and doing all they can to get into March Madness or improve their seeds. Stanford Steve and Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter got to talking about the teams that can win the national championship. Steve chose 13 total teams (after he added Duke). Of those teams, Wisconsin was mentioned.
This is an incredible take, as Wisconsin has been a volatile team in terms of big highs and big lows. While the clip below only has them talking about Duke. The Wisconsin logo is flying behind them on the screen among teams from the Big Ten that can win the title.

The logic behind the pick is that Wisconsin has beaten Michigan. That's the primary reason, but also won over Illinois and Michigan State, proving the Badgers can hang with any team at any time. The hard part is that Wisconsin can also lose to anyone if they don't show up with the A+ stuff, as the Badgers proved against Oregon.
Stanford Steve isn't the only one. Vegas actually has the odds for Wisconsin to win the National Title as the 21st best odds at +12500. That's still relatively high, but to put this another way, if you asked Vegas to choose the 21 teams that could win the National Championship in basketball this season, Wisconsin would be on the list.
Can they do it? They've proven they can beat anyone, even in hostile environments, but March Madness is about stringing a bunch of top-notch wins together, game after game. The Badgers have yet to prove that they can do that. Over the last 10 games, Wisconsin has only been able to put together a win streak of two games in a row. That would need to change to win it all.
