The Wisconsin Badgers have yet to land a commitment out of the transfer portal in this cycle, but those are coming soon. The most recent news is that former Wisconsin Badger Gus Yalden has found a new home at Vermont in his third stop in three years via the transfer portal. He redshirted at Wisconsin as a premier recruit, left without playing a minute for the Badgers to go to Seton Hall, and now is going to be a Catamount.

Gus Yalden has committed to play at Vermont next season after leaving Seton Hall

Gus Yalden was a four-star recruit for the Badgers but spent his first season not playing due to various factors. He struggled with some off-the-court incidents at the University of Wisconsin and then ultimately took a leave of absence for cited "personal reasons." He never was able to pan out for the Badgers.

He came in the same class as John Blackwell and Nolan Winter, and of the three, he was considered the prized recruit and the one with the biggest upside. It obviously didn't work out at Wisconsin, and Seton Hall didn't showcase much more, but the trajectory is going in the right direction.

Last season, he provided some quality depth on the Seton Hall bench and played in 26 games. He still hasn't showcased his potential, only averaging 1.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. However, Vermont may be where he finally unlocks his ability. The fresh start and the ability to play more minutes and in more games had to have been appealing for him.

He has a strong and flashy personality on the court and seems like someone who would be fun to root for. Hopefully, this stop will allow him to be who everyone thought he was going to be out of high school.
