As the NBA draft cycle continues to heat up, former Wisconsin Badger point guard Nick Boyd continues to build pre draft momentum. Boyd, fresh off a stellar season with the Badgers in which he averaged 20.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists, has only continued to make a name for himself, dominating in the NBA combine scrimmages, consistently pushing his name up draft boards.

Now, with the combine and pre draft events out of the way, Boyd has begun to workout for specific NBA teams, undergoing private workouts and interviews with other soon to be draftees. In these workouts he has a chance to cement himself into this year's draft class, as all it takes is one great workout with one team in need of his services to be selected. As of now, there is no clear grasp on where Boyd will land, but there have been a couple of teams who have publicly announced working out the 25-year-old guard.

Charlotte Hornets

The first team to announce they brought Boyd in for a workout was the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets, being one of the youngest teams in basketball last season, likely brought him in to workout in hopes of finding a more steady, experienced hand at the point guard spot. As of now, the only true point guard to occupy a roster spot for Charlotte is LaMelo Ball, who is amazing when on the court, but has struggled to stay out of harm's way injury wise.

If the Hornets were to draft or sign Boyd, he would likely have to compete with another guard that they bring in through free agency or the draft for the backup point guard spot. However, if he can continue to do what he has at every level prior, then Boyd has a somewhat clear path to at least spot minutes for Charlotte right away.

Sacramento Kings

The second team to announce that they brought the 6-foot-3 guard in for a workout was the Sacramento Kings. Many things can be said about the Kings organization and how it has been run in recent years, but there is no doubt that they are in need of talent at each and every position.

Bringing Boyd in doesn't exactly fit their timeline, however, as Sacramento is clearly trying to enter a rebuilding phase. Along with that, most mocks project the Kings to select a point guard with the seventh pick in this year's draft, leaving little opportunity for Boyd if he does land with them. However, if brought in, Boyd could very well steal some playing time away from other guards on the roster, especially considering the fact that Sacramento isn't attached to any of them long term.

Los Angeles Clippers

The most recent team to announce they worked out the former Wisconsin guard was the Los Angeles Clippers. Although the Clippers are a very talented team, they are currently sitting at a crossroads of having a roster that is either a piece away from being in true playoff contention, whilst also being in a spot where removing a player could move them to the bottom of the league.

Nonetheless, adding Boyd to the team through either the draft or free agency could fill some minutes for them while in the midst of figuring out their sticky situation. Los Angeles did just trade for Darius Garland, a point guard that they are now contractually attached to for the foreseeable future, but that's not to say Boyd can swoop in and clean up some minutes when Garland is off the floor.
