After a brutal 37-0 loss to Iowa on Saturday night, fans everywhere voiced their dispeasure with head coach Luke Fickell and the state of the entire football program. But it's not just fans who are dumbfounded with how far Wisconsin has fallen--former players took to social media to voice their concerns as well.
The product on the field isn't anywhere close to the standard at the moment, and former players from the previous regime are left wondering how Wisconsin has fallen so far.
Former Badgers sound off on the current state of Wisconsin football
Former running back Melvin Gordon had nothing else to add from his post after the loss to Maryland. Gordon alone averaged 185 rush yards per game during his final season at Wisconsin. The Badgers are currently averaging 112 rushing yards per game as an entire team.
Just wanted to repost this again before I write something I’ll regret in the morning https://t.co/F8OKbeBxDN

The former linebacker Vince Biegel bleeds red and white, and it's got to be painful to watch the current product on the field.
As a guy who loves the University of Wisconsin and the people there. Tonight’s 37-0 loss to #Iowa hurts. There’s no other words around it. It sucks.

So many great people, players, and staff. Just need to figure out how to be successful in the new era of college football.
The Badgers are leaving these former players stunned.
Yeah I’m about to crash out 🥹🥲

Things can't get much worse for Wisconsin football at the moment, and fans and alumni alike are left hurting. The team now sits at 2-4, including 0-3 in conference, with No. 1 Ohio State looming on the horizon. As one of the worst teams in the Big Ten and all of Power Four football, there's sure to be a change coming at some point. With the recent firing of Penn State coach James Franklin, it's fair to question whether the Badgers might make a similar decision soon on Fickell.
