The Wisconsin Badgers have watched three different players on their last year's roster jump into the transfer portal: Daniel Freitag, Chris Hodges, and Camren Hunter. That final player, Hunter, has already found his new home. Well, it's his old home for a second stint. Hunter announced on Instagram that he is returning to Central Arkansas, where he dominated.

Camren Hunter has announced his return to Central Arkansas after not panning out for Wisconsin

Camren Hunter was one of the top pickups for Greg Gard in the transfer portal last offseason—except he never really found his way onto the floor. However, during the offseason, he was listed as one of the bigger grabs while John Tonje was considered a bit more "ho-hum." The roles ended up being switched as Hunter struggled to find minutes while Tonje became arguably the best player in the Big Ten and the leading scorer of the NCAA Tournament through the first two rounds.

Hunter was a solid find in the portal, according to the numbers. He averaged 16.9 points a game when he last played at Central Arkansas. He earned multiple ASUN all-conference honors while at Central Arkansas, but for whatever reason, it didn't work at the Badgers. Now, Hunter has decided to return to the school that brought him success, maybe signaling a decision that he never should have left.

It's too bad it never quite worked out for Hunter at Wisconsin, but it is smart of him to go where he knows he can do well. It's a familiar home, and it's a conference he knows how to excel in. There's no doubt that Badger fans wish him the best and want to see him tear it up again in Central Arkansas and the ASUN conference. It didn't work in Madison, and it is what it is.
