It's no secret that Wisconsin is in the market for receivers in the transfer portal. Having two exit this spring has put a desire for more depth at the position. The Badgers have inquired about Xavier Loyd from Illinois State and now another wide receiver has emerged but this time with a visit scheduled. West Georgia wide receiver and former Michigan Wolverine, Karmello English is visiting Wisconsin this week.

Loyd and English have something in common: both started at top-tier football schools but didn't receive much playing time as freshmen. They decided to prove themselves at another school, did exactly that, and are now looking to make a splash back into the Power 4 world. For English the potential return to the Big Ten is very much on the table with Wisconsin.

Karmello English is set to visit the Wisconsin Badgers this week

Karmello English was a 4-star high school recruit out of Alabama, and he picked the Wolverines. However, after gathering only one catch on the season as a freshman, he decided to transfer to West Georgia and ball out. That's exactly what happened. He had 48 receptions for 693 yards and two touchdowns in his lone season for the Wolves. He's now looking for another shot in the Power 4 and Wisconsin is hoping to land him.

According to The Portal Report, English has 13 schools that have reached out with interest most are not going to compete with Wisconsin if the Badgers really want him. However, there are a couple of other major players in the running, such as the Baylor Bears.

In high school he was a highly regarded prospect and simply needed a bit more time to develop. One of the knocks was that he was still needing to add muscle to his body being about 6'0" but playing thin (at the time). It seems as if he has done that well and is now ready to take on the Big Ten again.
