The Minnesota Vikings literally could not cut undrafted free agent Joe Huber. He earned a spot on the roster with his incredible preseason performance. The former Wisconsin Badger was rated the top rookie offensive lineman in week one of the preseason and ended the preseason as the top-ranked run blocker. The Vikings gave him tons of snaps to prove he didn't belong, and yet, he continued to prove the doubters wrong.
This shouldn't come as a surprise to those who have followed Joe Huber's career. He started as a walk-on at the University of Cincinnati. He then transferred to Wisconsin, where he was shuffled around the line and had moments where it wasn't guaranteed he would be a mainstay on the line. However, he continued to prove doubters wrong.
Vikings had at least two undrafted free agents make their 53-man roster: QB Max Brosmer and G Joe Huber. https://t.co/5U85MKK8V1

Joe Huber went from walk-on, to transfer, to undrafted to NFL roster

He was invited to the NFL Combine but eventually went undrafted. The Vikings signed him as an undrafted free agent and gave him a shot to compete for a spot. Literally, with the idea that he probably wouldn't stick or, at best, would end up on the practice squad.
Huber then dominated the preseason and became a bit of a fan favorite during his time for his brawler-style of making blocks. Fans and reporters were calling for him to make the 53-man roster, and now he has.
He brings versatility to the Vikings' offensive line, having played nearly every position along the line, but primarily, he will be an interior player. He's going to be mainly a depth piece on the guards, but could also do a little with the center if needed. From his outstanding performance in the preseason and his versatility, the Vikings have to be thrilled with Huber.
