After Wisconsin's win against USC on Saturday, guard Kamari McGee leads the country in three-point percentage at 56.4% according to KenPom.

Kamari McGee takes games to another level this year

In his three previous seasons, including two at Wisconsin and one with UW-Green Bay, McGee was just a 25% three-point shooter, going 33-for-129. Now this season, McGee has completely turned things around, and based on qualified shooters with KenPom, McGee currently leads the nation from beyond the arc.

McGee has hit 22 of his 39 attempts, putting him on pace to make more three's this year than his previous three seasons combined. It's a stark difference and a testament to head coach Greg Gard's ability to adapt and develop. McGee has been one of the best players for the Badgers this year and should be a legitimate Sixth Man of the Year candidate.

The Badgers as a team have been on a tear as of late, winning their last seven straight on their way to a 15-3 record. A large part of the success has been due to veteran leaders like McGee and his all-around solid play. Coupled that with his best season by from from deep, and McGee has been the perfect chess piece for Gard and company to deploy.

Gard catches a lot of flack for not retaining homegrown talent, but Racine native McGee is a true success story. He has been invaluable for the Badgers this season and they'll look to his leadership and newly developed sharp shooting on their way to a potential Big Ten Championship.
