The Wisconsin men's and women's hockey teams participated in a Big 10 hockey series special called the Frozen Confines, an outdoor showcase at Wrigley Field in Chicago. It was a true spectacular with all the sights, sounds, and fun. While neither Wisconsin team is pleased with the results, the atmosphere, as well as the top-level competition, made it a worthwhile endeavor.
There were a total of 50,497 fans in attendance to take it all in, and they were left with an unforgettable experience. The fans there shared similar comments about the incredible environment, an experience they will never forget. The same was said by Wisconsin men's and women's hockey.

Women's Hockey took the Wrigley field stage first.
It started with an epic battle between the two best women's hockey programs. No. 1 Ohio State versus No. 2 Wisconsin. It ended up going to a shootout, and the Buckeyes took the match. Here are some of the best moments from their match:

There's more than the outfield wall at Wrigley today... we got one in net! Two big saves from McNaughton and we're still up 2-1. pic.twitter.com/mak3KW3bAJ

Goalie Ava McNaughton stood on her head with an incredible season-high 36 saves for a 0.923 save percentage. It was the first time that Wisconsin women's hockey went to overtime all season and their first shootout since Feb. 10, 2023, against Minnesota (a shootout they won).
Wisconsin men's hockey took on the top ranked Michigan State in the second game under the lights.
It was the men that took the ice... well, the field, after in another matchup where Wisconsin was pitted up against the top-ranked team, this time No. 1 Michigan State. Wisconsin entered in style.

They hung with Michigan through the whole game, going toe-to-toe and goal-to-goal. They were able to force overtime and ended up losing to the Spartans in overtime. Here are some of the top highlights:

One of the craziest and coolest views was from the seats in Wrigley. The clip below is very cool and helps you understand how the environment was so amazing and unforgettable. While Wisconsin would have loved to take one or both of the games, it was an experience they would certainly replicate if they could.
