With so many transfer portal prospects in town for their official visits, you just had a feeling some great news was on the way for the Wisconsin football team. Thus far, head man Luke Fickell has hauled in three commitments.

The latest pledge is Tulane defensive lineman Parker Petersen, who officially entered the portal on Monday and quickly landed a ton of offers. Wisconsin was in on him early and the recruiting efforts paid off big time, with Petersen announcing on social media on Sunday morning that he's going to suit up for the Badgers in 2025:

Tulane DT transfer Parker Petersen has committed to the Wisconsin Badgers

Checking in at 6-4, 300 pounds, Petersen is a monster in the trenches and he's ready to showcase what he can do in the Big Ten. In recent days, he picked up offers from Wisconsin, USC, Indiana, Auburn, Rutgers and others.

According to 247Sports, he's ranked the No. 10 DL transfer in the country and No. 100 player overall in the portal. He's coming off a strong season for Tulane too, as he recorded 21 tackles and 2.5 sacks for the Green Wave.

Originally from Nashville, Petersen signed with Tulane as a member of the 2021 class. Coming out of high school, he had offers from Tulane, Central Michigan, Navy, Murray State and others. After a breakout campaign in '24, it opened up the eyes of coaches across the country.

Ultimately, though, Fickell and Wisconsin defensive line coach E.J. Whitlow were able to sell him on the Badgers and what this team is trying to build for the future. With Petersen now on board, Wisconsin has landed portal commitments from him, Ball State tight end Tanner Koziol and Louisville pass-rusher Mason Reiger. Soon enough, more names will be added to the list, with fans everywhere waiting to see which quarterback will end up being QB1 next fall.
