While Wisconsin star John Tonje was preparing for the NBA Combine, which is set to begin this week, another former Badger star was putting on a show in the G-League Elite Camp.
Former Badger Chucky Hepburn, one of the 40+ players participating in the camp with hopes of getting drafted, was dropping dimes in his first action on Saturday. Hepburn finished with seven points, two rebounds and eight assists in just under 22 minutes of playing time.

Hepburn shines in first G-League Elite Camp game
Hepburn, a three-year starter for Wisconsin before transferring to Louisville for his senior year, was not invited to the NBA Combine, but did receive an invite to the Elite Camp with hopes of improving his draft stock. So far, through one contest, things are looking good for Hepburn, whose eight assists led all players in the game. He also tied a team-high with a 5 plus/minus in his team's loss.
Losing Hepburn to the portal last year was a tough pill to swallow for many Badger fans. He was a fan favorite and seemed destined to play out his career with Wisconsin. John Blackwell was then thrust into a point guard role despite being more of a two guard, while Hepburn thrived with the Cardinals. Still, it's good to see him have success and, especially now, with a chance at making the NBA.
Chucky Hepburn will play one more game tonight before the NBA Combine starts up. With another strong performance, he might have a chance to earn an invite after all.
