Many NFL teams have turned to next season as their hopes and dreams of a 2025 playoff run are over. They are looking into the next crop of talent coming out of the college ranks. The question before us in this article is, "How many Wisconsin football players have declared for the 2025 NFL draft?" Most Wisconsin fans might answer that question with, "None! This is a bad football team."
If that's how you answered the question, then you'd be right. No underclassmen have been declared for the NFL Draft. However, that doesn't mean that the Wisconsin Badgers football program is devoid of NFL talent. A few Wisconsin players will find their way onto NFL rosters, and even a few should hear their names called during the draft.
Which Wisconsin Badgers are headed to the NFL Draft?
There are some players that have exhausted their eligibility and will move on to the NFL or aspire to. Here is a list of the players that plan to work towards that goal, some are way more draftable than others.
Jack Nelson - OL
Jack Nelson is a good NFL prospect at tackle, and he should hear his name called in one of the middle rounds. NFL Draft Buzz has him projected to go in the 4th round, but with a good performance in the Senior Bowl, combines, and workouts, he could even see his draft stock rise. Nelson had All-Big 10 honors at the end of the season. He's going to be a solid depth or even potential starter piece for an NFL team.
Joe Huber - OL
Huber is another Badger who has exhausted his eligibility and will look to find his way into the NFL Draft. He will also be a middle- to late-round draft pick. He is a solid guard and is known for his ability to run block and get to the linebacker level.
Rj Delancy - CB
Delancy was one of the more exciting transfers that UW got last season. He came in from Toledo, where he put up 28 tackles, one interception, 10 pass deflections, and even a tackle for loss. However, he got a little buried on the depth chart with Wisconsin, and while he played in 11 games in 2024, he only had seven tackles. He will give the NFL dream a run and may go undrafted, but he could find his way onto a roster via that route.
Hunter Wohler - S
Wohler is one of the best Badgers players and could have declared last season for the NFL but wanted to run it back, hoping for a big year for the Badgers. That didn't come to fruition, and now that he's exhausted his eligibility, he should hear his name called in the NFL Draft. While NFL Draft Buzz has him projected going in the 7th round, don't be surprised to hear his name called sooner.
