It's wildly frustrating that the first game of the season is on a streaming-only service that costs extra money, and you can't get a free subscription, either. That's some crummy planning and money-grabbing style by the Big Ten. However, it's the only game of the season for the Badgers that's on BIG+. There are plenty on the Big Ten Networ,k but that's normal and expected and can be watched on a regular TV channel.
There are also a few on Peacock, but this will be the only BIG+ game of the season. You can subscribe and watch it, listen on the radio (Badger Radio Network), or wait it out and get back to regular watching programming next week.
If you do decide to subscribe and watch, the good news is that there are plenty of other Wisconsin Badgers sports that are on the streaming platform. The women's basketball team has a good collection on there, the volleyball team does too. Therefore, in some ways, it may be worth it to subscribe and catch the other Badger sports. However, understandable if you pass and wait until the next game that's on the Big Ten Network.
