The most egregious play of the Wisconsin vs. Michigan game came on Hunter Simmons' only turnover. Jeff Grimes was finally opening up the playbook to the new Wisconsin quarterback and letting him take a shot down the field. He did just that, and then maybe one of the most blatant pass interference calls you've ever seen happened, and the safety made a play on the ball to pick off Simmons.
The commentators couldn't believe it either. Luke Fickell was furious, and after the game, Hunter Simmons was candid that it was clearly pass interference. Watch it again below, and then read his comments after.

Hunter Simmons also couldn't believe it wasn't called. Do you see how there's absolutely no way the receiver could make a play on the ball, and that the defensive back is essentially tackling him long before the ball makes it even to the area? Yeah, Simmons thought the same thing. When asked if he thought the interception was a pass interference, he bluntly said, "Yeah" without elaborating.
However, when pushed to elaborate, he said, "It looked like the DB tackled him from my perspective." He would be right. He can't say too much more or even heap criticism on the referees without a big risk of getting fined. So he did exactly what it takes to say the non-call was terrible without a risk of getting fined.
It may not have been the best decision to throw that ball in the first place, as he was throwing into double coverage that turned into triple coverage. However, it was time to take a shot with Michigan crashing all day on the run game, and it should have been a first down, defensive pass interference. But it wasn't, and it's another loss for Wisconsin.
