Hunter Wohler did amazing in the NFL Combine and officially increased his draft stock for the upcoming NFL Draft. He scored a 9.55 out of 10 according to RAS draft scoring metrics. That's an impressive score, not just for this NFL draft, but all-time among safeties. The hope is that it translates to the NFL in an impressive way.
One of the biggest questions that many had about Wohler was his speed. NFL pundits were nervous he would test slow for the NFL. However, he may have also put that to bed.

Wisconsin safety, Hunter Wohler ran a 4.57 official 40-yard dash at the NFL Draft Combine
The NFL has his official time at 4.57 in the 40-yard dash, making his speed become not as much of a factor as draft evaluators figured it might be. It's not blazing fast for a safety but it's also not incredibly slow. The fastest safety in the NFL combine this year came in at 4.37 and the slowest came in at 4.59 out of the 15 safeties that ran it.
Which means this year in the NFL Combine it was a pretty fast crop of safeties as Wohler was tied for second to last out of 15 in dash speed. Yet, overall in NFL Combine history, he's given the average grade for 40-yard speed.
Here's a list of 40-yard dash times for the safeties:
4.37 - Marques Sigle (Kansas State)
4.38 - Nick Emmanwori (South Carolina)
4.41 - Kitan Crawford (Nevada)
4.42 - Billy Bowman Jr. (Oklahoma)
4.45 - Andrew Mukuba (Texas)
4.45 - Craig Woodson (California)
4.48 - Jonas Sanker (Virgina)
4.49 - R.J. Mickens (Clemson)
4.49 - Jaylen Reed (Penn State)
4.50 - Alijah Clark (Syracuse)
4.50 - Malaki Starks (Georgia)
4.55 - Maxen Hook (Toledo)
4.57 - Hunter Wohler (Wisconsin)
4.57 - Rayuan Lane III (Navy)
4.59 - Sebastian Castro (Iowa)
However, one thing about Wohler is that he has always played fast. Which he showed in the 3-cone drill, winning that in speed out of all the safeties. He was the top-performing safety in this category at 6.72 seconds.
Hunter did improve his draft stock even if his 40-yard dash didn't blow anyone away. He's rising up draft boards with his overall impressive display at the NFL Combine.
